We are exploring how to make sure stories get passed down. We want users to feel they can conveniently share memories with their current family or children without loosing the memories themselves.
Going further than that, we are thinking about future generations inheriting their ancestors stories. Imagining that one day, you will be able to see your great great great grandfather & mother's stories, hear their voices and learn their most valuable life lessons.
There are several options:
Online Database.
Users would have access to an online private family tree (think something similar to ancestry.com). The tree would allow you to see people in the family, to click on them and see their milestones and perhaps letters. Users could invite family members to view or edit.
Life Movie: Once a user has stopped keeping memories for their children they can export memories as a movie. Each memory would play like a slideshow in chronological order.
Life Book. Users can opt to have a "Life Story" book of their child's memories printed into a keepsake edition. The downside here is that video content would be lost and it would be more expensive that the other options.
We're leaning toward #1 but would like to know what others think as each option comes with it's own benefits and downsides. Maybe someone can think of a better alternative altogether!
