13 Kids Playspace Ideas

I love decorating! It's so much fun looking through all the kids room ideas on Pinterest. I’ve been wanting to redecorate my kids rooms for a while now but just need some inspiration. One really cool idea I stumbled upon recently is to divide the room using play equipment.

Its win-win because you get to create a play space for your kids that they can loose themselves in with pretend play while at the same time maximising and reinventing the same space. Plus - pretend play is great to boost creativity and cognitive development so it's always good to have some dedicated pretend play space around!

The easiest way to divide your room is to grab a few of the ideas below and put them side by side to form a single wall OR if you have a bigger space, arrange them into two walls like a corner.

Read on below for room divider ideas:

1. DIY Cardboard Ideas Book

Cardboard is cheap, eco friendly and fun to do as an activity together! With a bit of effort you can turn Cardboard into whatever your imagination desires. This book: Cardboard creations Book by Kathryn Ho is full of great ideas if you have a creative flair and love to make things from scratch!

4. Cityscape divider

Here’s another DIY idea I’d love to try – a city scape room divider! You’d just need an exacto knife and some time to cut out all the shapes. You could then fasten the pieces together with some nice ribbon or even plain old string.

5. Calming cubby hole

Even if your not that handy, you can still recreate this awesome space! Simply cut your large windows - they could be any shape you like - from a carboard box. To make it extra coxy, place cushions inside and perhaps some sensory toys. Add curtains over the windows, or stick on a toy mirror to the roof!
